This photo was taken November 4, 2007 at the H3 Ranch restaurant in the Fort Worth Stockyards in Fort Worth, Texas.
One of my main pastimes is photography, and while I've taken thousands of photos of others, I have few of me.
In February of 2011 we had what is a large snow storm for the Fort Worth, Texas area. I was glad I didn't have to get out in the snow and drive as we are just not prepared for this much snow in our area.
As part of a photography class assignment, I took a photograph of some great looking pears that were growing on the tree in the front yard. Unfortunately as they ripen, the "critters" got to them before they were ready to harvest.
Snoopy, named because of her behavior — cats are not the only curious creatures in the animal kingdom. She is now the "matron" of the property, and she also scolds the neighborhood cats and dogs if they are making too much noise or anywhere near the house.
Snoopy is a long haired Chihuahua, and for those who don't know, the Chihuahua breed make excellent watch dogs from the standpoint of alerting you to everything going on around you. The postman doesn't have to "ring twice" with her around!
Another photography assignment for a class I took had us up before dawn and in Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth to take photos in the early light.
Until you actually get out into the early light, you cannot appreciate what a difference the morning light makes on a photograph. While I'm often up at that time of day, I'm usually still enjoying a cup of hot coffee, not roaming around downtown!
Nothing quite as peaceful and relaxing as a nice little waterfall in the garden.
