Are We Alone?

Each day the mounting record grows.

That from the parts unto the whole,

A master plan was used that shows

We are progressing towards the goal.

In atom, star, and galactic swirls,

This plan repeats time and again.

As through the cosmos matter hurls

Obeying the law like docile men.

With this in mind one opines;

Other planets with like features

Orbiting in salubrious climes,

May shelter reason creatures!

Somewhere out there may be others,

Whose abstract thoughts ask the same.

Do we have some cosmic brothers?

Will we learn our neighbor's name?
